Fall color has made its annual appearance in the garden, with the first shift of plants slowly moving from green to yellow: Korean lilac on a standard trunk.

Royal fern (Osmunda regalis). Many years I cut dried fronds of this fern for fall flower arrangements, but this year's continued wet weather has mostly melted these fronds.
