We couldn't resist the buildings — whether whimsical or workable — that dot the landscape at Northwind Perennial Farm which we visited in May. Reuse, recycle and re-imagine are the watchwords for the structures at the well-known Wisconsin nursery. Ranging from tiny sheds to huge barns, all are put to good use, even if it's only to provide a blank wall to decorate.
The interior of the big red barn functions as a display space, sometime classroom and shop for garden antiques and ornaments.
No space is unused; the two pictures below were taken at the bottom of the silo attached to the barn.
I love the space where one can comtemplate "The Last Supper" in private, alone with one's thoughts. The pink lids in the two-seater are nice also.

Thanks for these beautiful images; I love all the richly weathered surfaces. Like Les, I'm intrigued by the Last Supper relief in its tiny space. Do you know anything of its provenance?

What an enchanting place. The brick work is to die for. There is inspiration everywhere.

Alas I don't know anything about the provenance of the items in these sheds. But we were pretty amazed to walk up that brick path and discover such a contemplative space.

sigh. I think I need to go lie down now and be contemplative. if only we had a brick path so pretty, or a big red barn so big! What a sweet post.
