A lovely memorial, it has also left me wanting continental steak. Greetings from Ireland, Sunny

This is a beautiful tribute to a wonderful woman. It sounds like you were very lucky to grow up with her as your mom.

It's bittersweet, isn't it, celebrating the life of these wonderful women after they are gone. My mother also used the Women's Home Companion cookbook. I remember the thrill when I found one for myself, followed by the thrills when my sister and I found others so each of us ended up with our own copy. Thanks for sharing your wonderful mother with us, Linda.

Happy birthday Mom. What loving memories she made for you.

What a lovely piece and what a lovely woman your mother was. It is so hard when they are gone. All those things we can never share with them. But thank you for sharing her with all of us.

Julie Siegel

Thanks for sharing all this! Amazing how mothers can range. I am also amazed at how much of your mother's face I see in you!
