One might be tempted to say not much is blooming in the garden this month. But the mere fact that anything is blooming in my garden in the Upper Midwest (USDA Zone 5) is proof that we've had an unusually warm autumn. In fact, we finally just had our first frost over the weekend. But it did not seem to have any effect on this group of flowers.
Geranium (sanguineum??)
Calamintha nepeta ssp. nepeta
Hamamelis virginiana has finally lost its leaves making the flowers visible from my kitchen window; in fact, much more visible from the window than they are in this photo.
And finally, my "Thanksgiving" Hellebores aka H. niger. The one plant is fully open; the one in more shade is still budded. We'll see if it manages to bloom before the temperatures permanently take a dive.

I don't have a Thanksgiving hellebore. I want one. If we had had any rain this month we might have some flowers. I did see wild violets blooming in the lawn. I will have to get out today and see if anything else is blooming. Yesterday I did see that the blooms on the Witch Hazel had dried up. The frosts we have been having have taken care of most else. Happy GBBD.

Wow, blooming Hamamelis! Is this normal for your plant, to bloom in November?

Loree - Yes, this is a native fall bloomer. I also have native spring bloomers.

Wow, there's quite a bit blooming in your garden for this time of year. Sorry to hear about your predicted temps in the 20's. Brrr. Keep warm and enjoy your blooms while you can!
