Before the presidential election I realized that my siblings and their spouses all on the same page politically. Not only that but my first cousins and their children were on that side of the election divide as well. And last weekend, lots of Brazills were marching as well. Next week it will be back to gardening on the blog, but knowing so many family members were in the streets last Saturday has made it easier to deal with all the discouraging news from Washington this week.
Mark and I started the day with a big breakfast at The Old Fashioned across the street from our state capital. I had the Wisconsin Benedict: poached eggs on brat patties with mustard sauce. Kept me going all day. And I wore my electric yellow beret adorned with political buttons rather than pink.
My cousin Jim's wife, Sue, marching in Buffalo, NY
Her daughter Jennifer in Los Angeles.
My sister Meg and her daughter Sarah in Vermont.
Cousin Barbara (lower left) in Ithaca, NY. (Her son and grandson went to Flint, MI to help the folks there with the water crisis.)
Sister Nan (left) with a friend in Erie, PA
Her son-in-law and grandson marched in Pittsburgh, PA.
If I missed any family members who were out there, send me your photo from the March and I will add it.
Marchers by the numbers: Jeremy Pressman of the University of Connecticut and Erica Chenoweth of University of Denver have been compiling the numbers. Here are their totals as of 5 p.m. on Thursday 1/26. (The two numbers represent the low and high estimates).

As I came upon photos of the Madison march I watched to see if I could spot that yellow beret. I applaud all of the marchers.

It must be great to have so many family members politically on the same page. Good for all of you for marching.
