I love weeping trees of any size or variety. This little charmer in Ken and Jean's garden is a mulberry.
When you walk around it you discover it is their grandchildren's hideaway. Ken built a platform that is big enough for a group of little friends to sit in seclusion or for a few small people to stretch out and nap.
I love the fact that you can't tell that the tree has this special function until you walk around the far side of it.
Oh this is a beaut. I love the idea of hiding in there. This brings to mind a huge weeping willow that my neighbor had when I was a child. I loved to go under it. It felt like you stepped into a different world there. I used to think I wanted one in my garden because of that but I have never lived where I had enough room for one. I have a weeping spruce that is really interesting. The birds like it. There seems to be a different bird nesting there every year. Sometimes 2 different species in that tree. I can't wait to see who moves in this spring.

It must be so much fun to play in there!

Sweet. I wonder if Ken and Jean's grandchildren sing "Here we go round the mulberry bush" while they're playing there?

This is lovely but not as fun as your weeping Katsura in my mind!
