It's August, which means that it's my chance to redo any spot in the garden that just isn't working in my opinion. I've got the time, the ideas and the plants. I've just been waiting for the rain.
As of Wednesday afternoon (8/16) we'd had less than a quarter inch of rain so far this month. It's not really unusual for August to be hot and dry, but the extreme amounts of rain we had in July and July suggested that August might be different this summer.
Finally late yesterday afternoon we got our first significant moisture this month as it began to rain just around 6 p.m. I'm happy and the garden is very happy. The total overnight rainfall was 2.22" (5.63 cm.).
Hooray for rain! Looking forward to seeing your edits.

Currently a number of big empty spots and a number of plants in pots waiting to be matched up.

I know I've said it before, but I just can't wrap my head around the concept of significant summer rain!!! Have fun...

Just like it seems odd to me that you don't get much summer moisture, though I understand this summer has been unusually dry.

Still waiting here. I have resorted to the sprinkler. I have shrubs lying down. Sigh~~ I am hopeful. Maybe this weekend. I think the concrete patio even enjoyed the over spray.

We've had more rain than you in August, so things are looking pretty good here, but a nice shower this week would be OK by me.
