One day 61, the next 26? Well hello, winter. Batten down the hatches and try to stay warm. I hope the damage from the windstorm was minimal.

Burr! As if a windy 26 wasn't bad enough, to have just had a 61 degree day that must be quite the shock to you and your garden.

All the branches that came down were dead ones. Guess it's a sign those trees need pruning again. We've been told they are near the end of their life span which is hard to realize. When they were planted 50+ years ago I am sure it was impossible to imagine years beginning with the number "2"!

The ground isn't frozen yet and there is no snow cover, so this is always a worrisome time regarding garden hardiness.

It sounds like it will get good and cold soon. I hope you get your snow cover.
