I am always swooning over plants I can't grow, whether they're from the UK, southern California or the Pacific Northwest. It's the downside of reading garden blogs from distant locations. Since such plants are not hardy here, you rarely even see them for sale. When I spied this charming Echevaria 'Red Velvet' at my favorite grocery store last weekend, I did not even consider resisting. Buddha's given my choice his blessing.
