The shelf mushrooms on my neighbor's tree stump just keep getting better and better,
These unknown beauties were all over a fallen branch that I picked up after a recent windy night.
I posted these images on the "Lichens, Mosses, Ferns and Fungi" FB group to which I belong, knowing someone would be able to identify the bottom image for me. Members of this group post amazing photos of these four categories from around the world every day. Well-worth joining if the subject interests you.
The bottom image is a "very young Trichaptum biforme. Violet toothed polypore," according to one of the FB group.
Ah, thanks for the FB group recommendation. I'll check it out. Yes, these are fascinating, for sure!

Among the major entertainments of fall in the Maine coastal woods are the fungi - especially those growing on trees. Interesting that you have similar looking varieties there, especially violet ones.

So many interesting Lichen etc. I just love this type of thing. I am going on a Lichen Hike on November 3. Looking forward to it.
Nice photos.

I thought Andrew might like that FB group after seeing his hiking fungi/lichen pix.
