Although we firmly believe President Trump deserves to be impeached, I am not sure we would have watched the end of the proceedings last night if we had been alone at home. Watch them we definitely did at an "Impeachment Party" with a crowd of like-minded friends.
It was fun to be part of a large group who were talking politics from the get go. Many of them work in government and for non-profits and are very well-informed. Sharing this moment brought home its historic nature as nothing else has done in quite the same way.
We began the this morning by reading our daily dose of "Letters from an American" by Heather Cox Richardson, an American historian and Professor of History at Boston College. Cox distills what is happening into a short, cogent explanation of what we are witnessing in our country each day. She is well-worth reading since she is writing about the news as a historian not an opinion columnist — and she documents her sources.
Sounds like a fun party. A good way to get through all the blustering. I will look up Heather's letters.

I like the fact that she steers clear of blather and unimportant distractions. Plus I understand what she’s talking about.

Sounds like a good steer for a good news source. Oh gosh, I just opened the link in a new window and started reading the 12/19/19 entry. I had to quit! But I will go back to it, perhaps tomorrow earlier in the day when I'm feeling stronger. Thanks, Linda.

I firmly agree. Hope voters wake up.
