I picked up this free packet of Zinnia seeds on a visit to the Chicago Botanic Gardens last summer. But it is unlike most seed packets if you look at the information printed on the front of it. It is a notice to the gardener to ensure their safety by calling the local utility company before starting any big digging projects. A clever way to remind gardeners that there is more buried on our property than just plant and tree roots!
Locally, call Digger's Hotline to find out where your utilities are buried.

Luckily all the cables are buried low enough I haven't dug into them...yet. I know where they are but if I was to try to put in a small pond I would sure call for the official marking of the lines.

Off topic but just to let you know Monty Don is starting a new mini series over here this week on American Gardens. I know you get to see some of these as well so surely this one!
Difficult to see ahead of time where he is going but broadly Missouri/Chicago/East Coast, then down south, then Arizona/West Coast.
Should be good, I'm really looking forward to it.
Happy New Year to you both.
