So glad they made it back for the last run❤️

JANE - Me, too!

Kristin

I'm so glad they are there, but sad for next year. I wonder if they will stand on the deck and shoot you nasty looks.

Barbara H.

Change is good? I'm sure there will be a lot of duck grumbling if not outright revolt. I had forgotten the pond was going away. Totally understand but for today at least I stand with Fred and Ethel.

Maybe next year you'll need to get a little kiddy pool and put it out for them?

Margaret

So sad but I can totally relate to the need to simplify.

I'm glad you - and they - have an opportunity to enjoy their visit one more time. I hope they find a perfect alternative nearby.

KRIS — Our house is near a pond in a public park where we think they spend time

LOREE — We’re getting a “tank end” to make a water feature like I see in pictures of British gardens.

Lovely to see them again!
Have they ever produced ducklings? Would be great for a last fling..

Linda Brazill

JESSICA - They’ve only brought ducklings to the garden twice. I think we are not a protected enough space for them to feel safe.

What a wonderful spring tradition coming to an end. I am glad you were able to say goodbye. It will be interesting to see if they stop in anyway next year. We don't have a big pond but we used to get a mallard couple waddling around in the side lot each year. They stopped coming into the garden when we put up the fence. Change is good.
