Saturday night's storm dumped 1.36" of rain on us in about half an hour. The garden was absolutely gleaming the next morning.

Monday, 6:30 a.m.: Just woke up to booming thunder, followed by rain. So I guess we won't be getting the last load of quartzite chips put into the pond this morning. Looks like this storm is going to be over us for a while, so I'm going to settle in with a cup of coffee and a garden book.
That sounds like the best possible solution to upset garden plans.

Wow. Although I know that a deluge of rain could lead to flash flooding here, I can't help wishing for it, even if it did come in that form. Enjoy your rainy morning break, Linda.

BARBARA — All the gardeners this morning are comparing rain amounts. We are thrilled.

KRIS — The other night we had a clogged gutter which was sending water into the basement via a window well. Mark took out a metal ladder to climb up and clean the goop out in the dark, wind and rain. I was hyper worried he'd fall but it all worked out. We are sometimes getting storms that don't move and drop too much rain too fast. So far, so good.
