What a beautiful photo, Linda! The butterfly numbers of all species seem to be down here in the Madison area this summer, but especially the Monarchs. Some sources say the season got off to a slow start with a cooler than normal spring. I hope we'll have some mild weather into autumn to help them recoup.
BETH — I've seen a few butterflies and only a couple of monarchs. I was looking at the Phlox and that butterfly landed right by me, so I was able to take a photo.

Nice photo, but I'm completely distracted by the flawless phlox foliage. Wow. So that's what it looks like.

FRANK -Phlox ‘Jeana’ is touted as mildew resistant. Year two and no problems. But it’s been hot and somewhat dry both summers. So, who knows for sure.
