I always bring in the last good-looking foliage and seedpods to make an autumn arrangement. This time I forgot about watering it after the first few days. So I remade it as a study in brown.
Have a pleasant Thanksgiving. I'm not the cook this year, so it will be very pleasant for us.

You're in luck. My limited exposure to influencers suggests that brown is in right now. I'm seeing lovely brown ribbons and brown sweaters. The arrangement is beautiful. I hope you enjoy your Thanksgiving. We ARE cooking, and that is the way we like it. If we have Thanksgiving someplace other than our home, we make our own Thanksgiving meal on another day! We are so happy that both kids will be here, as will our son's fiancee.
KRISTIN — Ben Futa, the former head of the Allen Centennial Garden on the UW campus, did a lecture called "Brown is a Color, Too." So I guess that means all of us locals have been way ahead of this curve.
Frankly, I would rather stay home and cook. That way I get what I want to eat with turkey. I was going to order a turkey to cook after T-Day but waited too long. But I still want to do my own. Maybe for Christmas.
Sounds like you will be having your perfect holdiay. Enjoy yourselves and stay safe.
Good save, Linda! I haven't cooked Thanksgiving in ages - too much work though I do love dressing. I'm going to a pot luck so will be making pumpkin pie for that. Happy Thanksgiving to you and Mark.
Happy Thanksgiving to you, too, Linda! We always cook, since I would much rather be at home than anywhere else. Sometimes it's turkey pot pie and sometimes it's the whole nine yards, but it's always relaxed and comfortable. The sun is out, the temperature is in the 40s, and the neighborhood is quiet. It is going to be a great day.
ELIZABETH — Kind of cloudy here with the possibility of rain. Since the high is supposed to hit 50°, rain would be nice as it won't freeze on the roads. I do like being at home on holidays, the way it's been for the last two years because of COVID. Nice to see family but nothing is as cosy as home. Enjoy your day.
Enjoy your day! I was able to work in the garden, stop for a meal, politely wait an hour or two, and then back out to plant more tulips! The weather was beautiful.

All the brown and golden in the dark vase creates an autumnal mood. I like it.
Hope your holiday is a lovely one.

hb — Hope you have a pleasant holiday as well. A little warmer here and rain forecast. That would be a nice something to be thankful for.
