A friend who stopped by to see the garden last weekend took this photo. I think it perfectly captures the moment: Flowers still opening, foliage turning color and fading away.

Perfect! Love those toad lilies, we saw so many during the Philly Fling, I may need to add a couple more to my garden.
BTW, I just discovered that my blog reader (Netvibes) hasn't been sharing your blog posts with me. It's saying:
"The URL for this feed/stream is returning an error. We'll try again later."... not that you can do anything about that, but it explains why I haven't been seeing your posts for a couple of weeks. Very frustrating!
Ummm. The pretty flower with the ugly name (not so fond of toads), that I dasn't even try to grow. This has been quite a nice October so far, occasionally hot, but not as bad as it could have been, and drizzle here and there. I could get used to this. Hope things are going well in your neck of the woods.
